The last 30 hours

have been so full of work it's not funny. Amazing to me how much you can get done in a day if all you are doing is busting your ass and throwing in a game of Ms. Pac-man here n there.

Yesterday around 5 we get a hair up our ass to go out and buy the kids a trampoline. We looked all over and none of the stores carried the one we wanted. We decided to go ahead and upgrade Samantha and Cameron to big bikes. Sam got a 16" one and Cam got a 12" one... short legs yet on that one, and no pedaling skills. All the kids got bike helmets (finally convinced Katelyn is was cool to wear one.. lol) and we bought a sand/water playcenter so the kids will stay OUT of the horse shoe pit this year.

Made it home last night around 9, fed the kids and put them to bed.. took the cover off the pool and dumped in some shock, algaecide, and chlorine and got that going. Doug cut his foot in the shop by landing on his computer parts strewn across the floor in there... thinking he may have learned a valuable lesson last night. ;) I was out by 11:30 last night.

Woke up at 8 this morning (Doug got up with the kids) was up for 10 minutes and my Aunt called, said her and my uncle were coming over to get the rotted wood and bags of dirt from the garden. YIPPIE! I ran out to the ATM so I could pay my uncle some gas money.. cuz you know that stuff isn't cheap right now. Came home and started putting the sand/water playcenter together. Aunt & Uncle came over and we loaded up the truck. So nice having that wood crap gone! As Doug & Uncle went to the dump to throw the crap out, Auntie and I finished putting the sand/water thing together and taught the kids to ride their bikes. Was fun, and the kids adore their new play center.
Sand water center

Ran to the pool store and got a water sample, bought even more chemicals, ran to Sams (was a total mad house because of Memorial Day weekend) and bought some goodies for grilling on Monday. Bought a watermelon and that baby is chilling in the fridge as I type this. Can't wait to have a slice or fifteen.
Sam's new bike
Katelyn worked on digging more leaves out of the pool. Doug and I cleaned off the pool cover and then put it away. Cleaned off the deck from winter crud, nailed the nails back down that had come up, and finally.. finally got more of my plants in the garden tonight. I can't wait til everything starts growing.. such a sense of accomplishment. And that has been my last 30 hours. *gulp* and my first time online today except for posting a layout which takes line 1 minute to do.
Cam's new bike
I hope to relax more tomorrow and enjoy the day... may make some cold salads ahead of time for the BBQ come Monday night, and plant the rest of my plants & seeds in the garden. Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

TSS kit... and I'm a lil corny.

Finally! Finally I feel like we are *this close* to a REAL live looking garden. Tuesday Doug laid down the weed cover. Wednesday night he put up the fence so we can keep the dogs and kids out. I also went to three different nurseries and bought plants. I even was given a whole flat of broccoli.. Katie is in heaven over that one... hope it grows! And, I found corn! Bought all the lady had.. I was so happy. I planted it in the ground tonight. I can't wait to get a photo of my corn in the garden.. told you this was corny! ;)

I got my TSS JUNE DUDE kit the other day. Knocked out two layouts with it yesterday.. love all the goodies in the kit. I heard it through the grapevine they'll be hitting the store tomorrow sometime.. you should check them out. Awesome prices and product!
Check it out.

This one was so hard to do.... Cam hurt hisself back in February '08.. just a few days past his 2nd birthday. Anyway, I think you can read the journaling.

In case you can't read it.. it says, *Queen underpants on the run*
This girl will go outside with you.. no matter WHAT she is wearing... silly thing.

I still have tons of paper & goodies left to play with as well, and I plan on scrapping and planting more tomorrow!! Oh... and I went and bought pool chemicals today.. their so darned expensive! The kids are getting excited... Cam wants either a smiley face floatie, or a duck. I'd love to get him this boat with a cover on it. Their all around $40 a piece... and we're rough on our pool toys, they hardly make it to the next season! lol

OH. and get this. There are some type of critter swimmy bugs that grew in the icky rain water on top of the pool cover. They almost look like crawfish but their greenish. weeeeird! ick!

My lil cutie from yesterday.

Weekend fly by

The weekend was a blur.

I ran to three stores Saturday morning looking for something to wear for the wedding. Got home around 12:30 with lunch.. scarfed that down and got ready for the wedding. Doug & Cameron stayed home (which was a good thing, Cam's a wild man yanno) so I took Katelyn & Samantha with me. The wedding was to start at 4pm. Amy & her wedding party was going to arrive a little after 2, and I wanted to snap some before the wedding photos of them getting ready.

I've spent most of the day today editing photos (they were ALL horribly dark, wrong angles, etc) and doing some laundry. The photos are uploading to flickr now, so when their up, I'll be adding some from the wedding here. My cousin Amy was a beautiful bride. They are honeymooning @ Dollywood this week.

Hoping to have some scrappy time for myself tomorrow... and get back to the message boards.

Churro-licious!

Katelyn had this project due today in school. She had to cook a dish from a different country. She chose Mexican and went with a dessert called, Churros. Traditionally, you make a dough, put it in a pastry bag, and deep fry little strips. They seriously looked like turds from the photos online.

Then we found a different way to make them that wasn't nearly as fattening. (IMO) We used reduced fat crescent rolls, slathered some butter on them, cinnamon & sugar, sliced them, then twisted. She has made them 3 times now and is considered a PRO in the Crowe household.

Don't they look tasty? Yup, they are! She gives her presentation, and a sample to the kids & teachers in her class today.

In other news, Tallyscrapper had the fastest sell out ever (I think) with the May kit. They were all gone in just under 4 hours of the release.
This is the last of my kit right here... all my paper is used up, I have just one journaling tag, a handful of ribbon scraps, and some hambly rub ons leftover. I can't wait to see what all the Tallyfolk do with the kit!

see my cute blog banner? Well, I used a lot of product from the kit in making it... I couldn't see it just go in the trash, so I turned it into a layout. Love it!

TGIF! Enjoy your weekend!

I have a wedding I am attending tomorrow. My cousin, Amy is getting married. As much as I tried talking her into hiring a wedding photographer, she wouldn't do it. She claims she isn't that interested in the photo aspect of it. I don't see why you wouldn't be if you've spent the last 8 months planning it... whatever. Oh yeah, and she asked ME to take some photos. I'm so dreading that. ugh.

Sweet new dress

I didn't buy one, but made some cool new clothes for my blog. I even messed around with the HTML and messed with some colors of things. I made it with the May TallyScrapper kit. Love that kit so much.... I would seriously consider buying it if I didn't have a hubby who would throw a fit. It would go something like this.

Me: Honey, I love this kit SOOOO much, I'm going to buy one!
Honey: "Didn't you receive that from your DT?"
Me: Yep, but I gotta have one of those mini albums for myself.. and the paper.. the PAPER.. swoon.
Honey: "You must be high, no way you are buying one when you already used up one.. that would be silly!"
Me: It would be SILLY for me NOT to buy one... look at how many things I've completed with it in 4 days. A new blog header, 2 layouts, a mini album from Maya Road... I see your point about the stamp... I could RAK that, cuz I wouldn't need two.... can I pleaseeeeeeee with kisses you know where buy another kit... ?

And that last line might let me have my way.... but I really don't feel like having this fight with him all over again... even if I would WIN! ;)

Tallyscrapper's *MAY* kit goes on sale THURSDAY

This was such an EASY kit to work with. Everything meshed perfectly without being boring.. plenty of fun colors to pop off one another. Be there or miss out at 12CST Thursday. The kit goes on sale then, and is ONLY $27.

Oh, and get this.. Tally is now shipping INTERNATIONALLY, and you only pay the cost of shipping.. no mark up mumbo jumbo. Oh.. and there is NEW Heidi Swapp in the hizz-ouse! I picked up some foam alphas, gel embellies, clear embellie overlays, lots of thickers (roller rink & poolside.. and daiquiri!)

I made two more layouts with this kit, plus the mini album in the last post... I still have plenty left for at least another layout, and lots of scrappy leftovers for cards.

*Goofs*

*mom & i*

WOOHOO and I'm stoked about this one. I beat my alltime high score in Ms. Pac-man earlier this morning. It was also the house high score - 310, 310... now look what Doug has to look forward to, to beat. bwahahaha.. love it! You know I'm bad, I'm bad, You know it! (remember that old Michael Jackson song?) lol

We have been getting so much rain lately, Doug and I haven't been able to get out there and finish setting up the garden.. we're so close to being able to plant the darn thing. It was probably for the best the poor corn died. (yes, I'm still mourning that loss... )

Be good to your loved ones...

ETA: Thanks Tami. My computer has been RE-SETTING my clock a day ahead.. stupid computer! lol

Lucky me (repeat 5x)

*squeals* Seriously. The MAY's Tallyscrapper kit, Spring Fling, is delicious! Gorgeous colors, glitz, stamps, mushrooms, and chipboard mini albums, 8 spools of ribbon.. add in Hambly and some Pink Paislee.. not to mention Sass Lass & Basic Grey.. you got yourself one heckuva wonderfabulous kit.

My grandmother's birthday is June 11, as soon as I saw the mini album I knew I had to dig right in and make her one.

You can see the FULL mini album here.

In other news... our garden clumps are done. We've bought 6 soaker hoses and some weed material to put in the garden. I have to go buy some tomoato and corn plants since my others died. Anyway... off to go play some more with this May kit. :)

brought to you by the letters N, S, and D

WOOHOOO National Scrapbook Day is here, and I am not scrapping. Something is seriously wrong with this picture. So much up in the air right now at home. For starters, my computer is toast. Need to replace the hard drive in it after hubby gets our server going again downstairs with ALL our data copied back onto it.

Hubby let me borrow the laptop from work, so my typing speed has dimenished 10 fold trying to get use to a laptop, and also a non ergonomic keyboard is slowing me down tremendously. Then my uncle brought over his computer for Doug to take a look at it. Funny stuff how everything goes down hill at once.... except I am not laughing. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to have a bitch & whine fest here soon so you all know what is going on with me.

Not today though. Today is one of those sacred Holidays don'tcha know. Anyways, what are you doing to celebrate? Tallyscrapper is having an ALL WEEKEND crop. Of course, most of my readers are loyal tally fans. lol ALSO, Thescrappingspot.com is having sketches posted today. Lots of fun inspiration there. If you post your creations tonight, you can have your prize shipped to you in the next kit. Awesome stuff there too.

I'm loving my new role at Tally. I just can't wait to meet some tallygirls there sometime... although I have to be honest, with the new series of events spiraling into my life at the moment, I may have to cancel my trip to the SC TallyRally in October this year. It's a possibility in the back of my mind.. pbblttt

I don't have access to my photos or scrapped layouts to update at the moment, but I will as soon as I get my trusty computer back. This lapop thing could be fun if I give it a chance... maybe if I get used to the mouse and keyboard. lol

Oh.. sad note. My corn died and so did my tomatoes... darn too much water I believe. I'll give it one more shot out in the garden once we get it ready for planting.
Hope all my scrappy friends are living it up and scrapping their asses off!
