Coloring contest with K&C & SOG!!

Hi friends!
Its a perfectly fun day to share my take on coloring up Gardening Mae from Some Odd Girl. Some Odd Girl and Kit & Clowder have teamed up for a fun coloring challenge. You can check that out here.

I printed out Gardening Mae onto a 7 x 10 watercolor paper. I painted her with the watercolors. It was my first time doing this so I thought it would be easier at a much larger size.
I was right, because there is a learning curve to using any new medium.

I added in some prismacolor pencils atop the watercolors to add in more definition and to correct some rough spots in my watercolor. lol

Once I had it all finished, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with such a large painting. I decided to frame it and treat it similar to a mixed media canvas. Some of the embellishments and stamping is right on the background with Mae, and others are placed on the frame of the glass.

So, I hope you join us for the coloring challenge. You can get Gardening Mae for a low low price, but you have to get the code from Alyce at Kit & Clowder. Would love to see you join the challenge!

The challenge this month for Some Odd Girl is as always Anything Goes, and the twist is Nothing Square.

I created this cute little guitar card in my Silhouette and colored up Guitarist Tia using my Prismacolor Pencils. I kept it simple as to focus on Tia and the cute little guitar shape.

15 years

Married to my love for 15 years yesterday.
The years have flown by.
I'm guessing that just means we've been having lots of fun.
These photos are from last April, we need to get some new ones taken.
He's the best man and husband I could ever dream of having in my life, and I am so lucky to have him. We've been together 22 years come November.
I've been with his handsome man almost half my life.
It's awesome to be able to have a partner in crime and just someone you love to hang out with.
I still can't wait for him to come home from work everyday. <3

hehe I love you Doug. Thank you for being such a sweet husband and my best friend in life.
And here's a card I made for him for our anniversary.
I wrote there sentiment using my Silhouette Cameo, then colored it in with a gel pen.
I colored the Raccoon Burglar from Some Odd Girl with Prismacolor Pencils.

Heart Printer Tray

Oh my goodness, have you guys seen the new Printer Tray Frames from Clear Scraps?
If not, you're in for a real treat! They remind me of shadow boxes and shakers combined into one... the best of both worlds, in my opinion.

Today, I'm sharing my take on the Heart Printer Tray Frame.

I found some of my favorite photos of the family from the last few months and added them to the chipboard backing piece. I took the top layer and adhered pattern paper and cut it out with my craft knife. I really wanted the photos to shine in this beauty. The cool thing about these is that you can create them to hang as home decor pieces.

See the cute little stamped hearts? Swoon. I love being able to add stamping on the acrylic top piece.

I also added some flocking and mini beads beneath the title on the bottom.
After I adhered it all together, I painted the edges (not shown here) of the heart to seal it even better. The flocking was so tiny it was finding ways to escape the heart.
I nipped that right in the bud. hehe

Thanks for checking in with me today. Check back on Friday for a super fun hop!!

Coffee? Yes, please!!!

Happy Happy Friday!!
I am so excited because it is my first Design Team post over on the Some Odd Girl blog today!

You know me.. I love my coffee.
So I couldn't resist making my first post and card with Coffee Lover Mae.

Gahhh! Isn't she so cute?

I colored her with my prismacolor pencils. I like this skin combination so much better than my last try at a digi coloring.
I'm not too happy with my hair colors. Basically because I added in too much tuscan red. Whoops. Live and learn. :)
Here's the inside. A pretty simple card. I really wanted the focus to stay on Mae AND the coffee. *grins*
Here's a quick list of my pencils I chose to use for the coloring. you can click on the picture to see the numbers closer. I am being SUPER lazy. Forgive me? hehe

Fail. I didn't photograph the hair combo. haha See. Must be because I didn't like the color. lol

I'm happy I'm working with Some Odd Girl again. I've missed it more than I realized!
Have a beautiful weekend, friends.

Happy HEARTS month!

Ahhh, Happy February my friends!!
One of my favorite months, not really because of Valentines day, but more about the HEART aspect.
Ok. who am I kidding? I love hearts all year round. :)

That's why I am excited to share this new heart layer stencil with you, it's quite cool!

For this card, I used my colored pencils to color in the stencil area on the pattern paper.
Once I filled in all the hearts, I then moved the stencil and added the second layer dots to three of the hearts. Shhh, but I didn't line them up so well. *grins*

For the inside, I colored a gorgeous flourish chipboard heart embellishment and smacked it right dab in the middle of the card. My honey will probably be getting this cutie.

I hope the start of the new month leaves you HAPPY and full of LOVE.

Products used: Clear Scraps Heart layer Stencil, Heart Chipboard Embellishment; Pattern Paper: HipKitClub Taffeta; Brads: WRMK; Adhesive: Beacons 3-in-1, Zots glue dots; Flowers: Prima; InkL Faber Castell Pitt Pen; PrismaColor Pencils; Ephemera: Crate Paper

New Daisies Acrylic Layout

Clear Scraps came out with some amazing new 12x12 layouts this year.
seriously. I LOVE them!

On this layout, Samantha and my granddaughter Reagan were playing with some Snapchat filters. We are really into the snappy filters here. :)

Alcohol ink and these cuties go together like bread and butter!

I used two colors of alcohol ink.
My absolute favorite part is being able to see the background through the acrylic.

One more close up..

What do you think? Cool or nah?
I say YES to cool. ๐Ÿ˜

Have a wonderful day my friends!
