November CME kit

Good morning friends!
It feels so good to be back on the blog again.. even when there is a lot going on here, I'm finding it hard to take 10 minutes to update. I'm going to start writing it on my list of things to do so.

Today, I'm sharing with you the contents of Creating Made Easy's November kit from Clear Scraps.

I had a wonderful time creating with this kit, and one of my favorite things in here besides the gorgeous acrylic pieces, is the fact there are TWO sheets of pattern paper included from the EP Fall Reflections collection.

With each monthly kit, there are printed instructions for the project of the month.. November's happens to be my project. It is fairly quick to put together, and really warms up your Home Decor for autumn and Thanksgiving.

I have this hanging right in my entry way.. it looks pretty amazing there.
Because I'm using an acrylic banner for this project, means it will hold up that much longer - or would make a great gift for a friend.

If you've ever wanted to try Clear Scraps acrylic (if you haven't, you should!!!!) buying a kit from Creating Made Easy is the way to start. The CME Blog shares projects, tips, and tutorials from the 2nd-15th every month.

Hugs!!

Life is flourishing

Seriously, life is FULL right now. I love it.

I am now a Grandma (Mimi)!!!
Reagan Izabella was born on Oct 29 at 10:45 am weighing 7lb 7.7oz.
swoon. I can't wait til I can spend more time with her.

We finally were able to celebrate my 17 year old Katelyn's birthday this weekend. It was wonderful! She has a class ring being made as part of her birthday gift.. can't wait til she gets it.

We have a new room mate (our cousin mark moved in) and are all adjusting to sharing the house with someone other than 'us'. I watch his daughter a couple times each week. Love her to bits!

Halloween was also a blast. My children made out like bandits, and I convinced them to just keep 30 pieces of candy, and we'd donate the rest to Daddy & Mark's work.. then they could have $10 for the book fair. They loved that idea!
Samantha poses for the camera. :)

I will update with some scrappy work tomorrow!!
Hugs n love!

Halloween Brag Bag

I forgot to get this post scheduled on the other day, but I wanted to share with you this super cute Brag Bag I created using the October kit from Creating Made Easy by Clear Scraps.

If you'd like some instructions to how I created this, a tutorial is available for download on the CME Blog.

I embossed the coveres and around the inside edges of the album pages using Globecraft Piccolo Embossing Powder... that powder is awesome!

I hid the centers of the album where the embossing was not placed with pattern paper from the kit.. and of course, lots of photos!

A lot of these photos were on my instagram feed from last year.

This paper mixed with Clear Scraps items is a huge WIN. I loved this kit!

My kids love looking through these mini albums, and I hope you liked peeking through it as well. :)

Hope your Sunday is marvy!

Two layouts

This morning I'm up on the Creating Made Easy blog showing off two layouts I created using October's kit from Clear Scraps.

In the kit came this Clear Scraps package with 2 acrylic scallop shapes. I decided to make layouts with them both.
For this layout, I covered the acrylic completely with pattern paper. Added some cut outs from the G45 papers as accents, and added my photos.

On this second layout, I wanted some of that crystal clear acrylic to show through. I removed the protective film from the front and added Viva Decor Pen in Silver all around the edges. Once that was dry, I started layering in my papers.
I used my Cameo Silhouette to create the web behind my 5x7 photo of Samantha, and also cut out the tag too for a journaling spot.

For my title, I cut out this cute saying from one of the papers.

Cute, right? hehe
Hope your weekend is fabulous, friends!

Woohoo October is here!!!!

So, it's the first of the month, and for the last 18+months, I would have posted a card from Some Odd Girl showing the new challenge.  I decided not to reapply this term and let the waters settle at home.  BUT.. I am SUPER excited to see all the new (and returning) odd girls this term at Some Odd Girl!!

Go check them out.. oh.. and if you're into ZOMBIES.. hehe, check out the shop.. Kristy has some wicked ones in there!!!

I absolutely LOVE October.. first of all, my daughter Katelyn's birthday is this month.. she'll be turning 17.. ermagerd!! hehe
and secondly.. Halloween!!!
I love Halloween decor, the colors, everything about it!

This year, I decided to make a countdown to Halloween using this super fab file I found in the Silhouette shop. Id#49209
It's not the best picture.. but I love the overall look!!
Now to fill the boxes with some treats.. *wicked cackle*

ETA: I ran to the store, and the little boxes hold 4 miniature hershey bars and 4 peanut butter cup... i mix and matched 3 to a box and made it to the 10th.. Maybe some fun family activities can be placed in there instead of candy.. :)

OOOH.. and the new debut of the Creating Made Easy kit for October is up.. it's one of my favorite kits to date featuring gobs of goodies from Clear Scraps and paper from Graphic 45!

I'll be back on the 3rd sharing some of what I made with this fabby kit!
XOXO

Belly Band Card

Good morning bloggin buddies!
I woke up with a cold in my throat this morning.. I am so blaming, Doug, as he was sick last week and this week with a cough.. ;)

Today, I'm up on the Some Odd Girl blog with a tutorial showing you how to make a belly band card.

On this card I'm using SOG's Sweet & Salty stamps. I embossed the little cupcake and filled the top with diamond stickles.

It's my last post of my term with Some Odd Girl...  I'm going to miss being on that most fabulous team. It's been a fabulous run with the Oddies, but I am cutting back on crafty demands right now until I get my act together. ;)

Go check out the other tutorials this week from SOG!
1 more day til the weekend.. live it up! :)

Brewing up something cute

Happy Tuesday folks...
My term is winding down with Some Odd Girl, and I have the cutest little Tuesday release to share with you today.

Here's the new digital stamp Cauldron Tia and new cut file Nightsky background.

This was an absolute blast to color. I tried creating a glow from the cauldron and really like the way it came out.
Copic Colors used:
Skin: E000, 00, 11, 13, YG21, 23, R29 (lips)
Hair: R81, 83, 85, RV29
Cauldron: T5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, YG21, 23, 25
Outfit: R24, 27, 29, T2, 0, YR12, 15, 16, BV11, 13, 17
Potions: FBG2, 0, FV2, FY1, FYG1, R02, BG01, YR15, Y23, 26, 28

For the nightsky background cutting file, I cut it out using my Cameo Silhouette, then I adhered a pattern behind the moon and on the bottom portion of the card behind Tia. The background showing behind the stars is the card base.

Totally fun and I can imagine being able to use it for so many scenes!
Hope over to the SOG Blog to check out the other new digital release, a super cute Mad Scientist.. hehehe
