Ooxie is such a mommas girl right now.... when she wants to sleep, she wants me to hold her so she can nuzzle up along my neck. I love that... except for when I need to be @ the computer... or to scrap. I forgot how much work taking care of a puppy is.. it reminds me greatly of a newborn.. except for the sleepless nights. She actually sleeps through the night better than Cameron does. *snicker*
I am actually a part of TWO, count 'em.. TWO ONLINE crops this weekend.. The Scrapping Spot & TallyScrapper
Both should prove to be a ton of fun... prizes, games, and conversation on the MB's.
Come check them out!
Oh, and there are as of last night, only a couple of the kits left for July available at The Scrapping Spot.... their flying off the shelves!
Speaking of kits, shelves, and almost being sold out... did I forget to mention that Christine gave me the opportunity to design JULY's TallyScrapper kit?! There is a peek HERE with a FULL blown peek coming this weekend!! I'm SO excited about this kit... which I think will be named, Sweet Summer Sunshine... why break with the Tally tradition?? Most ALL the kits have started with S's! ;)
Yeah baby, I'm stoked!

I've been wanting this little baby for just under a year now... bringing it up at least once or twice a month in hopes of weakening Doug's resolve. Can you guess what it is that I've been wanting?
Yes, probably that... maybe that, too!
But what I've been asking for is this:
awwwwwwwwwwww isn't she precious???
She'll be 3 months old this Saturday. She's AKC and we just need to register her, and get her last set of shots. I got her 10 days early as my birthday gift. I'm SO thrilled Doug bought her for me. I'm still in shock!
I've named her Ooxie (ook-see), still working on her middle names and all that jazz... want to make sure before I register her. I'm still thinking Bella Ooxie, not sure though.
she likes to lick.. a LOT!
and nibble too... at one point I was thinking nibbler.. or nibblet.. lol
she loves sleeping right under your chin/neck area
Thank you, Doug, you are the best my love!

I heard from my cousin, Amy this morning. My uncle had the tube pulled out of his throat, and is sitting up this morning. He has mainly 1st degree burns with some 2nd degree ones. His right hand is severely "messed up" as my cousin tells me. They were getting ready to cut his hair and mustache this morning when the doctors called my Aunt Pat. A much better prognosis than yesterday.
Thanks for being here and listening and praying for our family! We are so very appreciative!!
And I love these silly quizzes like below.
You Are a Banana
You are mellow, easy going, and a total softie on the inside.
People find it really easy to get along with you. You suit most tastes.
And while you're very sweet, you're not boring or ordinary.
You have an attraction to the exotic, and you could show up anywhere... doing almost anything!
You are spirited, energetic, and a total kick to be around.
You're also quite funny. Your sense of humor is on the goofy side, and it fits you well.

I'm far too lazy to type this all out again, but this is what I posted on message boards earlier today. If you pray, we sure would appreciate them! I'll update when I hear anything more!
>>>I just got word an hour ago, that my uncle was in an explosion. He was working on his camper in the backyard, getting ready to light the stove, and it exploded. He's in ICU at the moment and that's about all I know. His name is Dale. I would really appreciate prayers for him, and also my cousin, Amy. She has burns on her arms that I know of, and I know she put Dale out with a fire extinguisher.
I would be up at the hospital, but my aunt wants nobody up there right now. I'm so torn. ugh. Anyway, if I'm not on much, you'll know why. Thanks! xoxo
*update* My aunt called me. They are having to transfer my uncle to UVA hospital because his burns are too serious for the hospital in town to take care of. UVA is 2.5 - 3 hours away. They started transport around 4 or so, and made it there right before 6pm. I don't know what she's going to do. Her daughter, Amy is driving her up... they just dropped off one of Amy's children off around 6, and are heading up to UVA right now.
My Uncle had his shirt off when he went to light the stove.. he's a pretty hairy guy, they said he was pretty lucky his shirt was off, and that he had loads of hair on his chest, it helped to protect his skin some. He definitely has 1st & 2nd degree burns, and unsure if there are 3rd degree or not based on the assessment here in town. They have him on oxygen with a tube down his throat, he's been fighting the sleep medicine, so they had to restrain him during transport. I think he's resting finally.
My aunt called, and Ronald McDonald House is making her pay $15 a night for a single bed.... seems odd, as I always thought their stuff was based off donations, how much you could donate to them, etc. Dale was the sole bread winner because my aunt is on disability... thankfully, he has insurance through work... but for the other stuff... I'm sure it's a huge worry right now.
I'm rambling.. I'll check in later. Thanks so much for the prayers.<<<

See that cutie above? Yep her - Katelyn graduated 5th grade and will now be attending middle school next year. Her fourth semester grades were all straight A's. I am damned proud! She received all kinds of certificates & awards from citizenship to honor roll. The ceremony at the school was sweet, and they showed a slide show presentation that was available for purchase.. so happy I bought one. It was only $1!
Katelyn and Doug tossing the football.. my fav shot from the day - something about it just makes me think Superman.
In other news, after we took Katelyn out for some celebratory end of school year fun -read as CHUCKY CHEESE -
and... Doug decided not to go forward with speaking or obtaining custody of Amanda.
I urged him to make up his own mind, as he was wanting to base this decision on my reaction (health wise) and Katelyn's. I didn't want Doug to be able to come back years from now and resent us... make sense? I still, hope and pray he doesn't in the future.. guess time will tell. I'm relieved but feel a little guilt... guilty conscience by nature.. sure doesn't help when I wanted nothing to do with the kid after all these years.
Sigh. I know I'm not explaining how and why he came to the decision he did very well, but the stress has eased up astronomically. I appreciate (we appreciate) all your support and comments on the matter.
I'll end with a cool color shot.
other GOOD stuff to come tomorrow.

Now.. enough of that, as if it consuming 70% of my thoughts a day isn't enough... lol on to BRIGHTER, HIPPER, and HAPPIER thoughts. Yes.. I know.. Like the TALLYSCRAPPER June kit. That's it.. ahhhhhhhh yes, yes YES!! I feel the rocker coming out in me! Woohoo! This kit was Aerosmith inspired to hear Christine tell it... and it truly rocks.
*I wanna be a rock star!*
check out that star chipboard... you can open it up to add more dimension.
I only started scrapping with it today.. I know my mojo is on the way side right now.... so don't just take my work(word) for it.. check out the DT gallery - Look for JUNE PEEK in the titles.

Doug came out around 7 and said, wth? What are you doing up today? (Saturdays are my day off... he is suppose to be up with the kids) So I told him how I felt going to bed and thie pain was still there on/off this morning. Anyways, after him trying to talk me into the doctor I convinced him to get started putting the trampoline together (we bought that friday afternoon... BEFORE we realized I had skipped paying a months car payment.. ugh.) before it gets too dang hot out. He took the kids out with him, and I stayed inside. I eventually went out to take some photos and ended up helping. I think the hardest part was getting the bouncy part centered and lined up evenly all the way around.. we eventually got it centered and all the springs hooked up. Then came the surrounding piece. We have 3/4 of the trampoline together.
We came in for a break from the heat and some lunch and started discussing Doug's first daughter, Amanda. Doug has never had contact with Amanda, and is now, after 15 years, considering bringing her into our home. This stresses me out to no end.. not just because she would be a new member of the family, but because she is currently in a treatment facility for hurting herself (cutting) hurting a student in another state (cutting with glass) and I'm scared for my family. Apparantly, she is a liar and manipulator (what teenager isn't, right?) but just all this bundled up into a teenager we don't know... scares me.
We have a happy home. A loving family. We respect one another, support one another, lift each other up... we are truly blessed.... I don't want one kid I've never met to come in and tear it all down.... so, this is just a sprinkling of what Doug and I have been talking about lately.. and evidently, something that causes me great stress.... which also causes MORE acid in your stomach.
back on topic....
Around noon I realized my chest was hurting regularly, and thought we should go in to urgent care at the hospital. They admitted right away, hooked me up for an EKG, put me on oxygen, took blood, did a chest x-ray (we were there 3 hours) and gave me a cocktail to drink the last 45 minutes there.... the doctor thankfully said there was no damage to my heart, no indicators that my heart was/is/has been in distress... I have what is called GERDS.
All I can say is thank the good Lord above... and how in the hell can you have heartburn or acid reflux withOUT FEEling it?????
Pray for my family... please!

as i think of my near future
where i once saw rainbows and happy times
now turn dark clouds and i want
some people are just plain good
my heart and soul are selfish
not sure i'm cut out for the
painful as it is and forelorn as i am
i must try to grow
i need to find faith
and bring out the nurturer
for what's not mine
to welcome it as mine
to treat it with goodness and kindness
Ugh. I pray I don't fail.

Yeah, anyway. I'm getting better at HORSE shoes! woot! I got two ringers yesterday and a leaner, not to mention a ton more single points. I am beginning to like horse shoes! And if you play in your suit, you can jump in the pool to cool off. Perfect.
Doug & I took the irish twins to get their hair cut in a salon... it was their first time. Both were terrified at first, but once they were calmed down, and I was certain they weren't going to get themselves poked, I snapped a shot. :)
I love this one of Cam.. he was all done.
She chopped the heck out of Sam's hair.. before I knew it, her long hair was gone! SNAP.
here's a after shot. Check out the layout in this post for her before shot!
I miss her wild hair on the sides sticking out every which way.
Love me some Rusty Pickle & Prima!
